2024 Zurich Classic Weather Forecast and Projections

We’re teeing off for the Zurich Classic, where winds will have this course showing it’s teeth by the weekend.

As usual in my golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try to highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Zurich Classic Weather Forecast

Thursday, April 25th

Starting things out on a high note, we should see calm early-morning winds, light winds by the late morning (5-10 MPH), and afternoon winds peaking at around 10 MPH with stronger gusts. Great stuff.

Friday, April 26th

Starting similar to Thursday with light AM winds, but those winds should peak around 10-15 MPH in the afternoon with gusts around 20 MPH.

Saturday, April 27th

This is when things really start picking up. On Saturday we’ll see increasing winds all day, peaking in the afternoon at around 20 MPH sustained with stronger gusts.

Sunday, April 28th

A steadier day but still breezy. I expect winds around 15 MPH sustained all day long.

Zurich Classic Weather Thoughts

The edge here comes from a Thursday PM / Friday AM build in the first two days, as well as keying in on Saturday morning golfers over the afternoon for sports betting.
