NBA Player Props Today – Tuesday, April 30, 2024

Joel Embiid Over/Under 32.5 Points
Miles McBride Over/Under 8.5 Points
Donovan Mitchell Over/Under 24.5 Points

Joel Embiid Over/Under 32.5 Points

During the regular season, it’s often a worthwhile strategy to “buy bad news,” such as when a player is reportedly dealing with a minor injury. However, it’s more notable in the postseason when a star player misses shootaround. It’s even more notable when that player misses shootaround with a migraine, given the loud environment he’s going to find himself in later in the evening.

Embiid has gone under this number twice already in this series, and it feels as though he’s only becoming less and less healthy each day. These teams had only one day of rest between Game 4 and Game 5, which only adds to the concerns around Embiid and his health. The under makes sense here.

Miles McBride Over/Under 8.5 Points

McBride has been electric in the opening round of the playoffs, averaging 12.8 points per game on 9.3 field goal attempts. He’s scored at least 8 points in all 4 games, playing no fewer than 21 minutes and attempting no fewer than 7 shots.

McBride has scored 10+ points in all 15 home games this season in which he’s played at least 21 minutes. He’s scored 9+ points in all 19 home games in which he’s attempted at least 7 field goals. He has a great opportunity to continue his strong level of play this evening as the Knicks look to punch their ticket to the next round.

Donovan Mitchell Over/Under 24.5 Points

Mitchell has scored at least 25 points in 20 of 28 games on his home floor this season. He had only 23 points in Game 2, but he still took 22 shot attempts. He was only 2-for-10 from beyond the arc and 40.9% from the field overall, which held him back from getting to that threshold once again.

On Tuesday, Cleveland is facing a must-win scenario, with a pivotal Game 5 at home before heading back to Orlando for Game 6. Expect Mitchell to be aggressive looking for his shot in this matchup.
