Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Sunday, April 28th
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. Taylor Smith takes over on weekends. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Yesterday’s slate sure was an ugly one. Three of the four games were disgusting blowouts, while the Lakers managed to stave off elimination for another day by finally beating the Nuggets in the final game of the night. Here’s hoping we get a few more competitive contests today. We do have one game (MIL-IND) with a double-digit point spread, but everything else looks decent enough. Of course, MIL-IND also has the highest total on the board, and their matchup in Game 3 was an OT thriller.
So we’ll see what the day holds. We’ve actually got some meaningful injury news to deal with, as big names like Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, and Kawhi Leonard are all carrying questionable tags into the day. I’d be surprised if Luka or Embiid sit, but you never know with Kawhi. In the end, this could wind up feeling more like a regular-season slate than most playoff slates we’ve had thus far.
Let’s dive right in.

Team Previews
New York Knicks (at PHI): The Knicks lost a close one in Game 3, and they’ve listed Mitchell Robinson as questionable ahead of today’s Game 4. They’re 4.5-point underdogs in Philly today with a 102.25 implied team total. Jalen Brunson scuffled with his shooting in the first 2 games before bouncing back in a big way in 45 minutes the other night. Point guard is a deep position as usual, but Brunson has to be at least on the radar thanks to the minutes upside alone. His 36% usage in the series is comparable to the rate he posted during the regular season with Julius Randle sidelined. We’re also seeing massive minutes for Josh Hart and OG Anunoby, though Tom Thibodeau has given Donte DiVincenzo a quicker hook in the playoffs. Anunoby is a solid value on DK ($5,100), while Hart (1.06 FP/minute) is perfectly fine in the midrange if you have the money to spend. Isaiah Hartenstein (1.07 FP/minute) draws a tough individual matchup against Joel Embiid, but he’s another viable cheapie on DK ($5,500) if he can avoid foul trouble.
