MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Wednesday, May 1

Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?

squirrelpatrol: Mookie Betts
stevietpfl: Corey Seager
TheLuuch: Yordan Alvarez
Alex Sonty: Corey Seager

Who is your favorite sneaky stack on the board and why?

squirrelpatrol: Rockies – I expect to roster more of pitcher Roddery Munoz than I do the Rockies, but young pitchers with spotty control are always susceptible to getting blown up, even with Colorado’s struggles on offense this season. Munoz has an 18.7% BB% and just an 11.7% K% across 4 Triple-A appearances this season. That will be an issue against any major league team if Munoz can’t find his control.

stevietpfl: Nationals – I like Andrew Heaney tonight, but he’s starting to become more popular. I will be playing Heaney in this spot too, but I will also have some Nationals on non-Heaney lineups. Heaney struggles with command from time to time. If he starts to struggle with walks, Washington will try to steal bases on him. Nick Senzel and Ildemaro Vargas have been good against LHP, and this team has a low strikeout rate. If we can get some solid BABIP and stolen bases, Washington could be a strong secondary stack.

TheLuuch: Nationals – It’s not always exciting to click these names, but Andrew Heaney has a 5.64 FIP, has given up a ton of hard contact, and continues to get barreled by both sides of the plate. This is a pesky Washington team that does not strike out a lot, and it’s possible they BABIP the heck out of him.

Alex Sonty: Giants – Kutter Crawford is a decent pitcher, but his 0.73 GB:FB ratio since the start of 2023 is the most extreme on the slate, while the Giants have six 29%+ fly-ball rates with 45-60% hard-hit rates and 9%+ barrel rates: Matt Chapman, Jorge Soler, LaMonte Wade, Mike Yastrzemski, Michael Conforto, and Patrick Bailey. Crawford can’t keep getting away with this many fly balls in Fenway Park. If the Giants stay under 8% — let alone the sub-5% where they’re currently projected — they’re an easy lock for a contrarian single-entry build.
